Report someone

Open their card (tap their name at the top of your conversation), or the ··· menu in the conversation, and choose Report. Pick a reason, add a few words if you like, and Personas opens an email to us with their card and, if you leave it on, the last messages they sent you. You can read it before sending. Reporting can also block them.

If you're in danger, contact your local emergency services first.

Block someone

From their card or the ··· menu, choose Block. Their card and messages disappear from your phone and they can't message you. Blocking can't take back anything already shared.

Common questions

Nobody shows up nearby

Personas finds people over Bluetooth. Check that Bluetooth is on and allowed for Personas in Settings, that you're visible (the switch in the persona menu at the top left), and that the other person has Personas open. If it says Bluetooth isn't responding, swipe Personas away in the app switcher and open it again.

I didn't get a notification

Notifications work while Personas is in the background, not after you've swiped it away. Turn them on in Appearance → Message notifications, or in the iOS Settings app.

Can people I've met reach me when we're apart?

Yes, if you've already messaged each other nearby: text messages can travel over the internet, end-to-end encrypted, while Personas is open. Turn this off in Appearance.

How do I delete a persona?

Open it from Personas and choose Delete. Its conversations on your phone are deleted; versions made from it stay.

What does Olog see?

No cards, messages or photos: those stay on phones. Anonymous crash reports and usage counts only, which you can turn off. The privacy policy has the details.
